Claudia Lay is a dedicated homeschooling mother of two who share her deep passion for music. Prior to homeschooling, Claudia served as the Director of Operations at Oak Hills Church, where she was a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
Her musical journey began at a young age with training in piano, ballet, tap, and jazz. During middle school, she excelled in choir, earning recognition through the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) and securing positions in both Regional and District Choirs for multiple years. In high school, Claudia’s achievements included a performance at Carnegie Hall, being named 2nd Alternate Chair in the TMEA All-State Choir, and receiving a gold medal in the U.I.L. Texas Solo and Ensemble competition. She also performed in various musical theater productions, including Oklahoma! and Bye Bye Birdie.
Claudia’s children have followed in her musical footsteps. Her daughter was selected for the TMEA Regional Choir, earned a U.I.L. Gold Medal, and participated in musical theater while attending public school. Both children were active participants in the Kid’s Praise program at Oak Hills Church and currently take piano and voice lessons at CAC, where they continue to grow in their musical talents.
As a homeschooling family, they are active members of Boerne Area Christian Homeschoolers (BACH) and Hill Country Christian Homeschoolers (HCCH). Claudia integrates music theory and beginner piano instruction into their curriculum, fostering a well-rounded and creative learning environment. She also maintains professional engagement in music education as a member of the Texas Music Educators Association for Area E, Region 29, Vocal Division.
Claudia is excited to share her experience and passion for music through teaching at CAC—always with the goal of glorifying God through her gifts.
